Reading this table

Each rate shows how many units of the currency one euro buys. A rising rate therefore means a stronger euro and a weaker currency. The chart carries a dotted line at the rate of one year ago: the position of the curve relative to that line gives the direction of the period.

The European Central Bank publishes its reference rates every working day at around 16:00 Central European Time. Weekends and public holidays therefore carry no fixing.
